Specializing in fashion design(knitwear), art direction, and texture art
Janette, a graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology with a specialization in knitwear, is a designer whose work bridges the realms of craftsmanship and innovation.
Her journey in the fashion world includes formative experiences at industry-leading brands such as Proenza Schouler and 3.1 Phillip Lim, where she honed her skills in fabric, trim development, and knitwear design.
Now, at the helm of im5thanku studio, Janette is redefining wearable couture by crafting one-of-a-kind, hand-knitted pieces and intricate texture art. With a focus on sustainability and material innovation, her work transforms discarded materials into creations that are both timeless and forward-thinking.
Janette’s artistic contributions extend beyond fashion. She recently participated as an artist in Site Group Show 003: Grass Stain, showcasing her ability to engage with collaborative, multidisciplinary projects. Additionally, as the director of Epoche Movement, she explored the concept of aversion through an evocative sound-art film, culminating in a small screening exhibition.
From the tactile beauty of hand-knitted textures to art installations, Janette continues to push boundaries, creating work that resonates on both an emotional and conceptual level.
